Unirea ( German  Wallendorf , Hungarian Aldorf ) is a district of the Romanian city of Bistrița (Bistritz) in the so-called Nösnerland in Transylvania .

history

It is believed that the place was founded around 1150 by Transylvanian Saxons . The exact origin of the first settlers in Wallendorf has not yet been clearly established. In their research, both Karl Kurt Klein (Weisskirch) and Ernst Wagner came to the conclusion that it was probably Walloons who founded Wallendorf. Wallendorf used to be an independent municipality and has now been incorporated into Bistrița.
