Ur Jordens Djup ( Eng . From the depths of the earth ) is an album by the Finnish metal band Finntroll from 2007.

Recording and publication

After the beginning of 2006 of the Swedish not powerful singer Wilska had left the band was re-Mathias "Vreth" Lillmåns, an acquaintance of the first singer Katla, a Finland Swede found as a singer.

On September 24, 2006, the recordings for the new album began in the Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki. While the music was written by current band members Tundra and Trollhorn, the Swedish lyrics were written by founding member Katla.

The album was released on March 30, 2007 as a regular CD and as a limited digipack CD plus bonus DVD. The artwork was designed by guitarist Skrymer as on the previous albums.

style

Typically for Finntroll, the texts deal with troll stories. At first glance, another story about the Christian monks "Åmund" and "Kettil", whose fate had always been dedicated to a song on the previous studio albums, was left out. After the instrumental Kvällning there is about nine minutes of silence before a hidden track in the form of a short folk piece can be heard. However, this piece is called "Trollvisan" on the Finntroll homepage; so it is the continuation of the “Åmund and Kettil” series.
