Urmas Kaldvee started for Dünamo Tallinn . He was one of the first Estonian biathletes on the international stage after the country broke away from the Soviet Union . He took part in the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville and 1994 in Lillehammer . In France , the Estonian was used in all three races, reaching the 31st in the sprint, 48th in the individual and eleventh with Hillar Zahkna , Aivo Udras and Kalju Ojaste as the last runner in the relay. Two years later he ran the singles in Norway and was 61st, with Olaf Mihelson , Udras and Ojaste in the 13th season. Kaldvee celebrated his greatest international success at the 1992 Biathlon World Championships in Novosibirsk , where only the non-Olympic team competition was held has been. Here he won the bronze medal with Udras, Zahkna and Ojaste behind the teams of the CIS and Norway. At the 1993 World Cup in Borovets , he came in seventh place with the relay. His son Martten Kaldvee is also a biathlete and a member of the Estonian national team.
