Martten Kaldvee (born April 30, 1986 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian cross-country skier and biathlete .

He is the son of biathlete Urmas Kaldvee , currently a student and lives in Tallinn. In cross-country skiing he was mainly active between 2004 and 2006 and started here for the Nõmme sports club . The highlights here were the participation in a 15-kilometer race of the cross-country skiing world cup in Otepää , in which the Estonian finished 56th, and the Nordic Junior Ski World Championship in 2005 in Rovaniemi . He was used in three races and finished 70th in the pursuit, 42nd in the sprint and 63rd in the 10-kilometer race.

Kaldvee has been running biathlon since 2001. He is trained by Tonu Pääsuke and competes for the biathlon sports club . Since 2005 he has been part of his country's national team. He contested the first international races in Langdorf in 2008 as part of the Biathlon European Cup . The high point of the season was the 2008 European biathlon championships in Nové Město na Moravě . Kaldvee finished 71st in the individual, 72nd in the sprint and 14th in the relay. In the summer, the Estonian started at the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2008 in Haute-Maurienne , where he reached 33rd place in the sprint and 34th in the pursuit of the competitions on roller skis . He made his debut in the biathlon World Cup at the start of the 2008/09 season in the Östersund sprint , where he finished 102nd. In the following years he was able to improve constantly. Kaldvee was 45th in the individual as part of the Biathlon World Championships 2009 of Pyeongchang . In the relay competition he was able to run as a starting runner with Indrek Tobreluts , Kauri Kõiv and Roland Lessing to 14th place. He achieved his best result in the World Cup in 2010 in Oberhof when he reached 7th place under the most adverse conditions with only one shooting error in the sprint. It was both the first point win and the first place in the top ten. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver Kaldvee participated. His best result was 74th place in the sprint. After the competitions in Vancouver, Kaldvee started at the 2010 European Biathlon Championships in his native Otepää . In the individual competition he was 17th. In the pursuit competition he improved after 40th place in the sprint to 33rd place. With the Estonian relay he was eighth.

In September 2010, due to a lack of financial support from the Estonian Association, Kaldvee surprisingly announced his resignation from active competitive sport.
