Ursula Maria Richter (born May 30, 1942 in Wustung , Sudetenland ) is a German sociologist whose books primarily deal with the life models and perspectives of women from the perspective of the social sciences .

Life

From 1976 she studied sociology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. After completing his graduate studies (diploma in sociology), he studied research at the universities of University of California, Santa Barbara and University of California, Los Angeles . Then the doctoral studies took place at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the University of Vienna . In 1989 she received her doctorate in philosophy from the University of Vienna. From 1992 Richter was a lecturer at the Institute for German Studies at the University of Miyazaki, and in 1998 Visiting Scholar at the Center for Women's Studies and Gender Relations at the University of British Columbia , Vancouver . From 1999 to 2002 Ursula Richter was a professor at the Institute for German Studies at the University of Miyazaki. She has lived as a freelance writer since 2003. In 2006 and 2007 she accepted a position as a lecturer at Fuzhou University and at Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University in Fuzhou in Fujian Province , China. She has three grown children.

In her first book, Ursula Richter examined love relationships in which women are significantly older than men, and placed this topic on a new, empirically solid basis. To love a younger man. New Relationship Opportunities for Women was published in 1989 by Kreuz-Verlag, Stuttgart. The book is based on Ursula Richter's dissertation in sociology and has enriched the popular science debate in particular since its publication (reviews and stories in Der Spiegel, among others ).

To love a younger man has been translated into Japanese and Korean , as has its 1991 successor, in which Ursula Richter examines the status of female vengeance in our society: the vengeance of women, forms of female self-assertion .

In her publication, The Smile of the Geisha (Ehrenwirth-Verlag), the author deals with the modern reality of the geisha . Ursula Richter has taught at Miyazaki University ( Miyazaki , Japan ) for 10 years . She now lives as a freelance writer in Lower Bavaria.
