The pale yellow water hose ( Utricularia ochroleuca ) or ocher yellow water hose is a plant from the genus of the water hoses ( Utricularia ) within the family of lentibulariaceae (Lentibulariaceae). It is a carnivorous plant .

features

The pale yellow water hose is a deciduous, rootless, submerged aquatic plant that reaches heights of 10 to 15 centimeters. The end tips of the water leaves each have 0 to 3 (5) ciliate teeth on the edge. The crown is light yellow. The lower lip measures 7 to 9 × 10 to 13 millimeters. The spur is about 4 to 5 millimeters long.

The flowering period is between July and August.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 44.

Occurrence

The distribution area of Utricularia ochroleuca extends from Europe to Afghanistan, from Far Eastern Asian Russia to Japan and from sub-Arctic America to the western and northern United States. The pale yellow water hose avoids lime and grows in Germany in oligo- to mesotrophic waters such as ponds and gullies, especially in raised bogs . In Central Europe it is a character species of the Sphagno-Utricuralreitum ochroleuci from the Sphagnno-Utricularion association. He likes to appear in Rhynchosporion Schlenken together with Sphagnum cuspidatum . It occurs in water depths of 20 to 300 centimeters and more.

The species is rarely found in south-west Bavaria , south-east Baden-Württemberg ( Neukirch ), south Rhineland-Palatinate , North Rhine-Westphalia , north-east Saxony and Brandenburg . It is considered extinct in Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein .
