Uwe Tresp

Uwe Tresp (* 1967 ) is a German historian .

Life

Tresp studied history , geography and political science at the University of Potsdam (MA 1999). In 2002 he became a mercenary from Bohemia with Heinz-Dieter Heimann at the Philosophical Faculty with his dissertation . In the service of German princes: War business and army organization in the 15th century for Dr. phil. PhD.

From 2003 to 2008 he was a research assistant in two research projects at the Humanities Center for the History and Culture of East Central Europe (GWZO) at the University of Leipzig . From 2009 to 2011 he was a research associate at the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center 496 (“Symbolic Communication and Social Value Systems from the Middle Ages to the French Revolution”) / subproject A 10 (“Symbolic Communication in Understanding of Rule and Rule Practice of Emperor Charles IV. (1346-1378) “) Under the direction of Eva Schlotheuber at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster. In 2011 Tresp moved to the Department of History at the University of Potsdam (Heinz-Dieter Heimann , Professorship for Medieval History) and in 2014 at the Institute for History at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf (Eva Schlotheuber, Professorship for Medieval History). He is also a visiting scholar at the Institute for Historical Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin ( Michael Menzel , Professorship for Medieval and Regional History).

His main research interests can be found in the areas of medieval , country and military history .
