Víctor Urbán (born January 1, 1934 in Tultepec , Mexico ) is a Mexican organist and composer .

education

He began his musical studies with his father, the composer Manuel V. Urbán. Víctor Urbán continued his education at the School of Church Music in Tultepec under Próspero Cebada. Eventually Urbán finished his studies in Mexico with a degree as a concert organist at the State Conservatory of Music of Mexico City under Jesus Estrada . Among his teachers were well-known musicians such as José Pablo Moncayo , Blas Galindo , Rodolfo Halffter and John D. Tercero.

He then deepened his studies in Rome and Stuttgart with musicians such as Ferrucio Vignanelli, Fernando Germani and Helmuth Rilling . In addition, he met excellent teachers such as Domenico Bartolucci, Iginio Angles, Raffaele Baratta . He took courses with greats in the music world such as Andrés Segovia , Pablo Casals and Sergiu Celibidache .

Career

In addition to 250 concerts in the state of Mexico , Urbán gave concerts around the world that took him to Nepal and Thailand .
