The V GRD GmbH (Volkswagen Group Retail Germany), headquartered in Wolfsburg is the largest automotive retail group in Germany. 'VGRD' stands for Volkswagen Group Retail Germany. The company is a subsidiary of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft and employs around 9,500 people in 150 brand offices. VGRD GmbH sells vehicles from the Group brands Volkswagen , Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles , Audi , SEAT , ŠKODA , Porsche and Lamborghini . In addition, workshop and other services are offered for these brands.

history

On October 20, 1978, VW Synco GmbH was founded as a subsidiary of Volkswagenwerk AG (since 1985 Volkswagen AG ). On January 19, 2006 the company got a new name with Volkswagen Retail GmbH (VRG). In the VRG, the Volkswagen Group essentially ran its own Volkswagen brand operations as an independent trading group. In spring 2012, VRG was renamed VGRD GmbH. On September 1, 2012, it was merged with Audi Retail GmbH, in which AUDI AG had organized its own dealerships in Germany since 2007.

VGRD GmbH is a holding company for automobile trading companies. It all started in the early 1990s with the operations of Hamburg-based Raffay GmbH & Co. KG - and since June 2010 Volkswagen Automobile Hamburg GmbH. The aim of the acquisitions was to strengthen the Group's presence in the respective cities and regions and to improve the quality of services.

VGRD currently has 27 operating companies. The individual companies are (sorted alphabetically):

The VGRD GmbH companies generally manage their own business, while VGRD GmbH organizes the main functions of the group centrally. These include human resources, IT services, purchasing and facility management. So-called service centers, which are run by Volkswagen Retail Dienstleistungsgesellschaft mbH, exist for these tasks.

The Porsche Holding Gesellschaft mbH (PHS), headquartered in Salzburg (Austria) account, inter alia management responsibility for a number of retail organizations in Europe, as well as for the V GRD GmbH. PHS (also a 100 percent subsidiary of Volkswagen AG ) is the largest automobile trading company in Europe.

The V GRD GmbH is currently training more than 1,250 young people to automobile merchants , automotive mechatronics (disciplines body technology, car technology, system and high-voltage technology), body and vehicle mechanics , vehicle painters , specialists in warehouse logistics , merchant for office management and IT specialists from.
