In 1999 the merger with Segeberger Volksbank eG took place and the name was changed to schlicht Volksbank eG . The expanded business area has since extended from Bordesholm via Neumünster and Bad Segeberg to Kaltenkirchen . In 2004 the merger with Raiffeisenbank eG Kleinkummerfeld took place and the name was changed to Volksbank Raiffeisenbank eG . However, the short term ?? VR-Bank Neumünster . One year later, in 2005, the last merger to date was carried out with the takeover of Raiffeisenbank eG Wasbek .

In mid-2011 the company name was finally changed to VR Bank Neumünster eG and a location-specific name was adopted again.
