The VR Bank Lower Bavaria-Oberpfalz eG is a cooperative bank for private customers based in Regensburg . She belonged to the PSD banking group until the end of 2015 . Until then, her business area comprised the administrative districts of Lower Bavaria and Upper Palatinate. The bank has been operating nationwide since the beginning of 2016.

history

The VR Bank Niederbayern-Oberpfalz (formerly PSD Bank) has not existed like most of the other banks in the PSD Group since 1872. At that time, "Post-Savings and Advance Payment Associations" were founded throughout the German Empire. Savings and Loan Association ”traded. Exceptions, however, were Bavaria and Württemberg . A foundation was only possible here from 1934, when the postal administration of these countries was transferred to the Reich. The Regensburg Post Savings and Loan Association was founded in 1936.

After the war, business resumed on April 1, 1946. In 1989 the company switched to the PSD brand, and in 1996 it was renamed PSD Bank Regensburg. In 1998 the legal form was changed from the economic association to that of a registered cooperative and thus the company name was changed to PSD Bank Regensburg eG. In 2011 the name was changed to PSD Bank Niederbayern-Oberpfalz eG.

On June 22, 2015, the general assembly decided to expand the business area to include all of Germany. Associated with this was an exit from the Association of PSD Banks. Since the bank, as a cooperative , has to belong to an auditing association , it is now a member of the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative Association .

Since then, the bank has appeared in public under the Meine Bank brand . In December 2017 the name was changed to VR Bank Niederbayern-Oberpfalz eG .

Protection scheme
