The PSD Bank Westfalen-Lippe eG is an independent, regional direct bank for private customers based in the Westphalian Munster and belongs PSD banking group at. Your business area covers northern Westphalia, i.e. essentially the Münsterland and the East Westphalia-Lippe region .

In addition to the main office in Münster, the bank has another advice center in Bielefeld .

history

Like most of the other banks in the PSD Group, PSD Bank Westfalen-Lippe eG was founded in 1872 as a “Post-Spar- und Vorabschnittverein”. In 1903 this was converted into a "Post-Spar- und Loan Association".

In 1996 the association moved into a building on Kaiser-Wilhelm-Ring in Münster. On December 4, 1998, the general meeting decided to transform the previous association into a registered cooperative and thus to change its name to “PSD Bank Münster eG”. This became effective with entry in the register of cooperatives on February 4, 1999. In January 2000, PSD Bank Münster eG entered into a cooperation with Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall .

On June 15, 2004, the meeting of representatives decided to rename “PSD Bank Münster eG” to the current name “PSD Bank Westfalen-Lippe eG”. The new name should make it clear that the bank offers its services not only in Münster, but also in large parts of Westphalia.

On August 11, 2006, construction work began on the construction of a new administration building at the port in Münster with a larger usable area. The opening took place on June 18, 2008.

PSD Bank Westfalen-Lippe is the first bank in Germany to be awarded the ISO 27001 security certificate.

Media facade on the office building

A special feature of the office building is a media facade on which 220,000 LEDs have been applied and which functions as a large screen with a resolution of 45,000 pixels. It was the world's first media facade on a new building; it went into operation on August 8, 2008.
