history

On January 4, 1872, two post, savings and advance payment associations were founded in Hamburg and Bremen. Members were the employees and officials of the Post and their family members. In 1903 the Hamburg association was renamed the Post, Savings and Loans Association (PSpDV) Hamburg, and the Bremen Post, Savings and Advance Payment Association has been called the Post, Savings and Loan Association (PSpDV) Bremen since then. In 1998, the Hamburg and Bremen Post Savings and Loan Associations expanded their services to all private customers and also changed their legal form to registered cooperatives (eG). At the same time, the names of the two institutes were changed to PSD Bank Hamburg eG and PSD Bank Bremen eG. In 2002 the two PSD banks in Hamburg and Bremen merged to form PSD Bank Nord eG.
