The PSD Bank Berlin-Brandenburg eG is a German advisory direct bank with headquarters in Berlin . It belongs to the PSD banking group and, together with 13 other independent PSD banks, is a member of the Federal Association of German Volksbanks and Raiffeisenbanks (BVR).

The private customer business has been supported by the individual business in the real estate finance segment since 2013. a. supplemented with building cooperatives. Since 2017, the bank has also been active on the market as a lessor for its own properties.

history

In 1872 Postmaster General Heinrich von Stephan founded the first postal savings and advance payment association in Berlin with 427 members as a bank for the postal staff. In 1897 there were already 40 associations in the Reichspostgebiet, of which the Berlin Association had the largest number of members with 78% of the Berlin postal staff.

By order of the Allied Command of Berlin, all banking had to be stopped in 1945. The re-establishment took place in 1950 together with the Staatsdruckerei Berlin as a savings and loan association for the Berlin postal workers . At the same time, the association joined the auditing association of the cooperative banking group of the Volks- und Raiffeisenbanken and had 10,169 members.

In 1992 the name was changed to PSD Berlin-Brandenburg , the divisions were the federal states of Berlin and Brandenburg. Seven years later, it was converted into a registered cooperative. Since then the name has been PSD Bank Berlin-Brandenburg eG . Since 2004 private customers of all professional groups can become customers of the PSD Bank.

In 2017, the bank supported non-profit institutions in the region with around 300,000 euros.
