VV Brown (* 24. October 1983 in Northampton , England ; actually Vanessa Brown ) is a British soul-pop - musician .

biography

Before Vanessa Brown started her own career, she worked as a background singer and songwriter for other performers. Among other things, she co-wrote the hits I Don't Need a Man by the Pussycat Dolls and Denial by the Sugababes . For the television series Las Vegas in 2005 she also recorded her own song entitled Whipped . In 2008 she started a real solo career.

She started with the single Crying Blood and immediately received very positive reviews. Among other things, she was included in the BBC's Sound of 2009 list at number 7 of the most hopeful talents. The Daily Mail , the Independent and even the Los Angeles Times predicted a prosperous future for her.

With her single Shark in the Water and her debut album Traveling Like the Light , she made it into the UK Top 40 in 2009 . Later that year she also got involved in the Young Soul Rebels charity .
