Vaccaris lady's mantle ( Alchemilla vaccariana ) is a species from the genus of lady's mantle ( Alchemilla ).

features

Vaccari's lady's mantle is a medium-sized, firm plant. It's pretty tightly silky. The leaf blades of the basal leaves have a width of 2 to 3 centimeters, are kidney-shaped and include 270 to 330 °. Their upper side is dull dark green in color and is likely to have a glossy finish, hair is only present on the teeth at most. The underside is gray-green, has a weak to strong silver sheen and is divided over (60) 90 to 100% of the radius. The 5 to 6 sections are wedge-inverted-egg-shaped to elongated-wedge-inverted-egg-shaped, rounded to edged and 60 to 90 ° wide. There are 3 to 5 pairs of adrenal nerves and 6 to 11 teeth; there are no teeth over 50 to 70% of the length (corresponds to 6 to 12 millimeters). The teeth have a length of 1 to 2.5 millimeters (corresponds to 7 to 15% of the radius of the leaf blade) and are 0.7 to 1.5 millimeters wide. They are 0.67 to 2 times as long as they are wide, and the end tooth is even up to 3 times as long as they are wide. The teeth are elongated-triangular-wart-shaped to wide and crooked triangular, spreading to parallel and often blunt. The auricles of the stipules are only fused in the lower part. The stem is ascending to upright and 10 to 20 centimeters long. It is silky everywhere and 3 to 5 times as long as the leaf stalks. In the inflorescence it stands out more, and the hairs are stiffer here. The inflorescence is rather arm-flowered and contains up to about 100 flowers. The partial inflorescences are mostly shamrock. The flower stalks are 1 to 2 (3) millimeters in length. Some have bare tips. The flowers are 3 to 3.5 millimeters long and 3 to 4 millimeters wide. The goblet is mostly brown-red in color and densely silky. The goblets are 0.8 to 1 times as long as the goblet , 1 to 1.4 times as long as wide and finally upright. The outer sepals are often absent. They are only eyelashed or have sparse hair on the underside. The stamens measure 0.5 to 0.7 × 0.1 to 0.15 millimeters. There is a carpel .

Occurrence

So far, reliable evidence of Vaccari's lady's mantle is only known from the Pennine Alps. Here the species can be found in the Aosta Valley on Monte Rosa in Val di Gressoney on silicate rocks and rubble at altitudes of 2100 to 2300 meters.

etymology

The species was named after the Italian botanist Lino Vaccari who discovered the species.
