Coordinates: 58 ° 27 ' N , 14 ° 54' O Vadstena is a municipality ( Swedish commun ) in the Swedish province of Östergötland County and the historic province of Östergötland . The main town of the municipality is Vadstena . The municipality is one of the smallest in Sweden. Other places in the municipality are Borghamn, Hagebyhöga, Herrestad, Hov, Källstad, Nässja, Orlunda, Rogslösa, Strå, Väversunda and Örberga.
geography
The municipality extends about 25 km along the eastern shore of Lake Vättersee . The largest part of the community is taken up by gently undulating flat land. In the southwest of the municipality is the Omberg, which separates the lake from the plain in the east. There are several wetlands along the mountain, and to the southeast is Lake Tåkern , a well-known bird sanctuary.
