The Val de Morgins is a side valley of the Val d'Illiez , in the Chablais region in the canton of Valais in Switzerland . The mountain stream Vièze de Morgins flows through the valley . The only settlement in the valley is the Morgins holiday village . Most of the valley is in the territory of the municipality of Troistorrents . Only the top part belongs to the municipality of Monthey .
geography
The valley begins in the heights around the Pointe des Mossettes and the two mule passes Portes de l'Hiver and Portes du Soleil , which lead into the Val d'Illiez. The latter was the namesake of the French-Swiss ski resort Portes du Soleil . The two mountain lakes Lac Vert and Lac de Chésery are located in the headwaters of the Vièze de Morgins mountain stream. At Troistorrents the valley drops steeply and joins the Val d'Illiez. The highest point in the valley is the Pointe de Chésery .
traffic
The road leads through the valley to the Pas de Morgins , which connects the Valais with the Val d'Abondance in Haute-Savoie, France .
