Valero Rivera Folch (born February 22, 1985 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish handball player and son of the handball trainer legend Valero Rivera (born 1953).

The 1.85 m tall left winger began playing handball in the youth team of FC Barcelona . From 2001 he was also a member of the professional squad with which he won the ASOBAL league in 2003 , the 2003/04 EHF Cup and the 2004/05 EHF Champions League . After several positions in Spain, he moved to the French club HBC Nantes in 2010 , with whom he was able to advance to the final of the EHF European Cup 2012/13 . In the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons he was the second top scorer in the league. In 2011/12 he was also voted best player. In summer 2016 he returned to FC Barcelona. With Barcelona he won the Spanish championship and the Spanish cup in 2017 and 2018. Since the summer of 2018 he has been playing for Nantes again.

With the Spanish national team he was world champion as national coach at the 2013 World Cup in Spain with his father. A year earlier he was in the 15-man squad for the 2012 Olympic Games in London , but was not used. He won bronze at the 2014 European Championships in Denmark . In 2018 he became European champion with the Spanish team .
