Vana-Koiola (German Alt-Koiküll-Kirrumpäh ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) in southeast Estonia . It belongs to the Põlva Municipality (until 2017 Laheda ) in the Põlva County .

The village has 84 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). It is twelve kilometers north of the city of Võru . Nearby are the lakes Vana-Koiola järv (7.2 hectares), Soojärv (1.2 hectares), Lauga järv (13.6 hectares) and Karsna järv (16.3 hectares).

In 1627 the Koykull farm was first mentioned in a document. Today there is a culture house and a library in the place. From 1926 to 2010 there was a school in the village.

Personalities

The ornithologist Mihkel Härms (1874–1941) was born in Vana-Koiola .
