History and good
The place was first mentioned in 1403 under the name Rassinal .
At the beginning of the 17th century, a courtyard was built on the site of the deserted village. In 1611 it belonged to the von der Luden family . From 1624 to 1736 it was owned by the noble Baltic German family Strömfeld . Then ownership passed to the von Rosen families and then von Stackelberg . The last private owner before the expropriation in the course of the Estonian land reform in 1919 was Erich von Minding.
The neat manor house was built from wood in the early 18th century in the Baroque style. Today only part of the left side wing, which was used as a shop, is preserved. A 44.5 hectare park with avenues and old broken willows is attached to the estate .
Houses of worship
The Evangelical Lutheran St. Martins Chapel belonged to the place. The year it was built is unknown. It was destroyed in the Northern War in the early 18th century.
In the early 1930s, the manor's storehouse was converted into a new St. Martin's Church. Today the church is in ruins.
school
In 1765 the local school was founded. The modern two-storey school building in the functionalism style was built in 1934/35 according to a project by the architect Tõnis Mihkelson (1887–1944?) After the previous building from 1870 had become too small. The poet and writer Rudolf Reiman (1893–1957) was a teacher there from 1911 to 1915 . The school was closed in 2005 due to a lack of students.
