Ibaste (German Ibbaste ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) in southeast Estonia . It belongs to the Põlva Municipality (until 2017 Ahja ) in the Põlva County .

Population, location and history

The village has 41 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011).

The place is located 28 kilometers southeast of the city of Tartu on the Ahja River (Ahja jõgi) . It was first mentioned in 1419 under the name Yppas .
