Professional background

The time at MTV

Initially, Vanessa Warwick played in several bands, worked as a manager and production assistant, occasionally wrote for music magazines such as Metal Hammer or Metal Forces , worked for several record companies and took on freelance activities such as promotion or marketing. She quickly made a name for herself through her versatile work and in 1989 got a job as a production assistant at the British regional broadcaster MTV Europe . Only two years later she became part producer and presenter of the music program Headbanger's Ball , which was exclusively dedicated to the areas of metal and hard rock . Over a period of seven years she hosted this program and increasingly slipped into the role of producer and production manager. One of the shows she was running in the meantime was MTV Select .

After Headbanger's Ball was removed from the music program, she left MTV in 1997 to take a position as a series producer and production manager. She then wrote the book MTV Headbanger's Ball · Chaos AD: Rock In The Nineties with Steve Beebee . The photographs for the book were contributed by Ross Halfin .

Company formation

A short time later, Vanessa Warwick founded her own production company. One of the first clients was Sony Music Entertainment . Sony asked Vanessa Warwick for an Electronic Press Kit (EPK) to advance Ricky Martin's career on an international level. The EPK production succeeded and ultimately promoted Martin's breakthrough. Vanessa Warwick has since worked with many artists and produced numerous portraits and documentaries.

way to success

In August 1999 she founded the Special Music Projects Dept. at Chrysalis TV (now North One TV ). A few months later, she created and co-produced a Latino pop special for Channel 4 under the title Latino Loco . The program reported on Latino artists such as Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez , Carlos Santana , Enrique Iglesias and the until then relatively unknown singer Shakira . The show was moderated in Miami by Julio Iglesias Jnr.

At the same time she continued the EPK productions with her company and created documentaries for David Gray , Craig David , Kylie Minogue , Coldplay , Luciano Pavarotti and Russell Watson . In addition, she directed the production of around 12 video clips for various artists such as Motörhead and Hayley Westenra . In 2001, Motörhead recorded the 25th Anniversary Concert (Live @ Brixton Academy) under her direction . The video, which was only released in 2003, turned out to be a box-office hit and is considered one of the SPV's best-selling videos .

She also worked with Dido , The Rasmus and Rod Stewart and then realized her collaboration with Madonna .
