The building regulations in Vedersø Klit prescribe thatched roofs and masonry , which creates a unified and original overall impression. These regulations also apply in the neighboring Vester Husby, Bækby and Græm ( Holstebro Kommune ).

Lake and navigation mark

Before tourism began, the inhabitants of this area made a living from agriculture and fishing. A boat, rescue missiles and other equipment were available for sea rescue right behind the dunes. The Raketvej ran parallel to the beach line in order to get to the scene of the accident as quickly as possible in the event of an accident . Today the Raketvej serves as a well-developed cycle path.

The symbol of Vedersø Klit is the wooden sea mark: the triangular beacon is around 12 meters high and was erected in 1884. The municipality of Ringkøbing-Skjern listed its beacons in 1997. The advancing coastal erosion last forced the implementation of the Vedersø beacon inland in 2011. Eleven other sea marks have been preserved on the Danish west coast. They are different in shape to be distinguishable from sea.

Atlantic Wall Bunker

At Vedersø Klit, the North Sea advances about one meter eastwards every year. The Atlantic Wall bunkers, which the German Wehrmacht had built on the dunes, are today outside on the beach or even in shallow water. Ailing bunkers have been removed since summer 2013 so that bathers are not endangered by remains of concrete and reinforcing iron .
