Vedran Zrnić (born September 26, 1979 in Zagreb ) is a former Croatian handball player . His playing position was right winger .
Career
Zrnić was under contract with the handball Bundesliga club VfL Gummersbach from 2006 . In summer 2013 he was released from VfL. The club stated that despite the contract running until 2015, they no longer plan with Zrnić. The background to this was legal disputes over salary payments and health insurance subsidies for the player. Then Zrnić ran on for the second team of VfL in the third division . On September 30, 2013, his contract with VfL was finally terminated. After Zrnić was then without a club, he joined the Polish first division club Wisła Płock on November 12, 2013 . After the runner-up in 2014, he left the club and was initially without a club for some time. It was only at the end of October 2014 that he signed with the Turkish Champions League participant Beşiktaş Istanbul , where he and his compatriot Ivan Ninčević formed the wing tongs. From summer 2015 he is under contract with the Croatian club RK Našice . He ended his career in summer 2019.
For the Croatian men's national handball team , he played 133 international matches and scored 270 goals. In 2003 he became world champion and 2004 Olympic champion.
Zrnić is married and trained as an electrical engineer.
