Groß Meierhöfen Castle

Velké Dvorce (German Groß Maierhöfen , also Groß Meierhöfen ) is a district of the city of Přimda (German Pfraumberg ) in the Czech Republic . It is located two and a half kilometers east of Přimda and belongs to the Okres Tachov (German Tachau district). The Úhlavka (German Aulowa ) rises southwest of the village .

history

The Pfraumberger Urbar of July 10, 1591 names the Mayerhoff zum Schloss (Pfraumberg) . The place was founded by the von Schwanberg family at the end of the 16th century. At the same time, the first nine houses were built, including a sheep hut and a grinding mill. In 1596 Georg Schmidt from Pfraumberg bought the "Maierhof under the castle sambt den Neunhütlern" in addition to the village of Konraditz. In 1608 the Meierhof came to the Schwanberg brothers. Johann Philipp Husmann bought the estate during the Thirty Years' War . In 1653 Johann Wenzel Kolowrat -Nowohradsky acquired the Meierhöfen and Minichsfeld estates from Husmann's widow and later united them to form the family entails. The castle is said to have been built around 1680 by order of Count von Kolowrat. The Müller map shows the "Alt Schlos" at "Gros Mayerhöfen" around 1720. The village counted seven gardeners in the tax role , but in 1788 already 29 house numbers "with a Meyerhofe and castle".

After the abolition of patrimonial formed United Maierhöfen / Velké Dvorce 1850 a municipality in the judicial district Pfraumberg and Pilsener circle. From 1868 the community belonged to the Tachau district . In 1930 there were 43 houses in Großmeierhöfen with 235 residents. After the Munich Agreement , Groß Maierhöfen became part of the German Empire and belonged to the Tachau district until 1945 . In 1939 there were 218 inhabitants in the community. In 1961 Kundratice (German Konraditz ), Malé Dvorce (German Klein Meierhöfen ) and Jadruž (German Godrusch ) were incorporated. At the beginning of 1980 it was incorporated into Přimda. The castle was sold in 1993 by the Counts of Kolowrat and is being renovated. The size of the castle is about 6100 m², that of the property is 6.3 hectares. In 1991 the place had 195 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 49 houses in which 222 people lived.

The place has always been parish to Pfraumberg. The chapel of St. John the Baptist at the castle was first mentioned in 1788, but was no longer used in the 20th century.
