The Venant is a river in France that runs in the Allier department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises near the hamlet of La Chaussée , in the municipality of Tronget , directly at the intersection of national road 79 and Département road  107, generally drains in a south-westerly direction, finally turns to the east and after 27 kilometers flows into the municipal border of Blomard and Target as a left tributary the double . In its lower reaches the Venant crosses the A71 motorway .
