Verónica Maria Gómez Carabali (born August 30, 1985 - April 13, 2012 ) was a Venezuelan volleyball player .

Gómez Carabali began her career at the age of 14 when she represented Venezuela at the U20 World Cup in Canada . In 2002 she took part with the senior team in the Central America and Caribbean Games in El Salvador ; the team achieved the silver medal. In the following years, Gómez Carabali was able to celebrate further successes at international level, including participation in the U20 World Cup and the Pan American Games , both in 2003 in the Dominican Republic , in the 2004 Olympic qualification tournament at home, the 2004 Bolivarian Games (gold medal) as well as the Central America and Caribbean Games 2006 in Colombia (bronze medal).

At club level, Gómez Carabali was active at Datovoc Tongeren ( Belgium ), Club Deportivo Ávila Vóley ( Spain ), VBC Köniz ( Switzerland ), CSU Metal Galați ( Romania ) and VK Uralotschka-NTMK ( Russia ). In summer 2011 she moved to the Azerbaijani association Lokomotiv Baku ; In April 2012, Gómez Carabali was on home leave after an Achilles tendon operation when she died of cardiac arrest .
