Veronica Raquel Perez Murillo (born May 18, 1988 in Hayward , California ) is a Mexican - American soccer player who has been under contract with KIF Örebro since the beginning of 2016 .
Career
society
In 2009, Perez began her professional career with the Seattle Sounders Women in the W-League . She then played in the 2010 season for the WPS franchise of Saint Louis Athletica . In 2012 she first returned to the Seattle Sounders and after the end of the season moved with her teammate Kate Deines to the Icelandic first division club UMF Stjarnan , with whom she was able to celebrate the cup victory.
In January 2013, Perez was assigned to Flash in the so-called player allocation of the newly founded NWSL franchise. She made her league debut on April 14, 2013 against Sky Blue FC , her first goal in the NWSL she scored on June 15 against Washington Spirit . For the 2014 season, she moved to league rivals Washington Spirit, with whom she reached the play-offs. Perez skipped the 2015 season, also due to the preparation for the 2015 World Cup . National team
In 2009, Perez was part of the US Under-23 team. She has been playing for the Mexican national team since 2010 and took part in the 2011 Women's World Cup with them. In 2014 she competed with Mexico in the 2014 CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup . Perez was used in two group matches and in the third-place match that helped Mexico qualify third for the 2015 World Cup. She is also part of the Mexican squad for the 2015 World Cup in Canada.
