Vera Cordes

Vera Cordes (born February 26, 1961 in Hamburg ) is a German journalist and television presenter .

Life

Vera Cordes studied German , sports and educational sciences in Hamburg after completing her Abitur at Otto Hahn Gymnasium in Geesthacht and then graduated from the Axel Springer journalism school in Hamburg and Berlin. During her studies, she worked as a freelance print journalist for local daily newspapers such as the Geesthacht newspaper . In 1986 she started her career as a reporter for reports from the days and Hamburg Journal , NDR . From 1988 to 1990 she worked as a news editor and presenter for the private broadcasters Hundert, 6 in Berlin and radio ffn in Hanover. Back in Hamburg, Cordes worked for eight years as head of news and presenter at RTL Nord as well as editor-in-chief of the Hamburg editorial team. From 1999 to 2002 she moderated the evening magazine DAS! , presented the N3 news and was also used as a reporter at NDR. Since 1998, Vera Cordes moderated the health magazine rounds   of NDR television and received for her work as a medical journalist and presenter numerous awards.

Cordes is an ambassador at Bethel, is involved a. a. for the ASB project "Hamburg Schockt" and the "Aktion gute Schule". Since 2018 she has been the patron of the "Aktion Augen auf!" the Hamburger Arbeiterwohlfahrt and member of the jury for the Hamburg Science Award of the Academy of Sciences in Hamburg . At the end of June 2018, the medical journalist was elected to the board of the German Heart Foundation .

Vera Cordes is married to a marine biologist and has two children.
