history

The Verbandsgemeinde Braubach was established in 1972 as part of a functional and territorial reform in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate .

In the course of the second municipal and administrative reform in Rhineland-Palatinate , which began in 2010 , the municipalities of Braubach and Loreley were amalgamated on the basis of the so-called "voluntary phase" that ran until June 30, 2012. In unanimous resolutions, the Braubach and Loreley community councils declared their will to voluntarily form a new community association. The administrative seat became St. Goarshausen , a second administrative office remained in Braubach.
