A program focus of the publishing house is fiction from Arabic in German translation, bilingual Arabic-German poetry volumes and non-fiction books on the Arabic-Islamic area. Other regional focuses are Kazakhstan and Argentina . It also publishes non-fiction books on migration , Islamic studies , ethnology and architecture in the German Democratic Republic .
The publishing house Das Arabische Buch became more widely known due to the study by Christoph Luxenberg , The Syro-Aramaic Reading of the Koran. A contribution to the decryption of the Koran language (1st edition 2000), which works with scientific philological methods. The 4th edition in German (from 2011) is out of print.
