Veronica Calabrese (born January 1, 1995 in Tradate ) is an Italian rower .

Career

For the first time in her career, Veronica Calabrese competed in the 2012 Junior Rowing World Championships . In Plovdiv she was part of the Italian double foursome at the 2012 Junior World Championships together with Stefania Gobbi , Carmela Pappalardo and Valentina Rodini . They managed to qualify for the A final, where they finished sixth and last. The following year, she took in the Lithuanian Trakai as part of the Italian rowing eight at the Rowing World Junior Championships in 2013 in part. They qualified for the A final through the repechage and were able to win the bronze medal behind the Romanian and German eighth.

In 2014 Veronica Calabrese took as a member of the Italian women's rowing eight at the 2014 European Rowing Championships in Belgrade in part. With the eighth they missed the A-final and had to compete in the B-final, where they finished third. In the overall standings, they finished the competition in ninth and last place. After the European Championships, she first took part in the U23 World Rowing Championships . At the home U23 World Cup in Varese , she was part of the Italian eight, which was already eliminated from the competition in the hope run . With only four participating boats, they were fourth and missed a medal by more than a second.

After her second participation in the European rowing championships , she took part in the U23 rowing world championship in Plovdiv in 2017 , where she was part of the Italian eight , with which she only reached the B final. There, the Italian eighth finished second, so they finished the competition in eighth place. In the same year she took part in the rowing world championships for the first time in her career . Near Sarasota and Bradenton , she and Ilaria Broggini made two without helmsman at the 2017 rowing world championships . They missed the qualification for the A final. In 2018 Veronica Calabrese took part in the World Cup in Linz together with Ilaria Broggini . They qualified as the second Italian boat for the A-final. At the European Championships 2018 in Glasgow , which were part of the European Championships 2018 , Veronica Calabrese and Ilaria Broggini started as part of the foursome without a helmsman.
