Veronika Harcsa (born October 8, 1982 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian jazz singer and composer.

Life

Veronika Harcsa dropped out of her studies at the Technical University of Budapest and switched to the Franz Liszt Music Academy , where she graduated in 2008.

In 2005 she founded her own jazz quartet and produced her first jazz album, Speak Low . In 2007 she performed at the Budapest Fringe Festival . From 2004 to 2010 she was associated with the Erik Sumo Band . Harcsa also works with the Pannonia Allstars Ska Orchestra . In 2010 she founded the band "Bin-Jip" with Zsolt Kaltenecker, Bálint Gyémánt and Andrew J. She worked with the Italian Nicola Conte on various occasions and was a guest of the German Thomas Siffling trio. The album Lámpafény is based on eleven texts by Hungarian poets of the 20th century: Mihály Babits , Attila József , Frigyes Karinthy , Lajos Kassák , Dezső Kosztolányi , Ágnes Nemes Nagy , Árpád Tóth and Sándor Weöres .

With the cellist Albert Markos, she made the music for Aron Matyassy's film Lost Times in 2009 and for Yves Cantraines film Plastico in 2013 . She also writes theater music and participates in dance theater projects .

Harcsa received a Fonogram díj (record award) in Hungary in 2009 for You Don't Know It's You in the Jazz category.
