Risa Gallagher works as a secretary and marries a wealthy lawyer. Her husband cheats on her and embezzles a large sum of money together with his business partner Brett Newcomb.
Gallagher is accused of murdering her husband after her death. The woman is sentenced to life imprisonment. She escapes from prison and goes into hiding with friends. Gallagher seeks the masterminds of the intrigue to which she has fallen victim. Meanwhile, the police are looking for her. Police investigator Molloy has growing doubts about her guilt.
