The administrative community Rain is located in the Swabian district of Donau-Ries and is formed by the following communities:

  1. Genderkingen , population 1202, 11.67 km²
  2. Holzheim , 1150 inhabitants, 20.29 km²
  3. Münster , 1187 inhabitants, 17.71 km²
  4. Niederschönenfeld , 1515 inhabitants, 14.34 km²
  5. Rain , city , 8891 inhabitants, 77.12 km²

The administrative community is based in Rain.

The administrative community was founded on May 1st, 1978 and has had its office in the town hall of Rain ever since . Due to the enormous increase in population, a second office was set up at Münchner Straße 42 in April 2019, where work for the communities of Genderkingen, Holzheim, Münster and Niederschönenfeld is done. As of July 1, 2014, the communities of Holzheim and Münster were enlarged to include parts of the dissolved community-free area of Brand .
