In the administrative community Saalkreis North from the Saxony-Anhalt Saalekreis ten municipalities were united to do their administrative business. The administrative seat was the city of Löbejün . On January 1, 2011, the administrative community was dissolved and the new city and unitary community Löbejün-Wettin (since April 7, 2011 Wettin-Löbejün ) was founded from the former member communities .
