Administrative court Sigmaringen
The Sigmaringen Administrative Court is one of four administrative courts in the state of Baden-Württemberg .
Seat and District of the Court
The Sigmaringen administrative court has its seat in Sigmaringen . The judicial district includes the city of Ulm and the districts of Alb-Donau-Kreis , Biberach , Bodenseekreis , Ravensburg , Reutlingen , Sigmaringen , Tübingen and Zollernalbkreis and is therefore responsible for a good 1.8 million inhabitants.

The court is subordinate to the Administrative Court of Baden-Württemberg in Mannheim . The Federal Administrative Court is superordinate to this.
history
After the end of the Second World War , the administrative court of the state of Württemberg-Hohenzollern in Bebenhausen and from 1952 the administrative court of Bebenhausen was responsible for the state of Württemberg-Hohenzollern and since 1952 for the then administrative district of South Württemberg-Hohenzollern . In 1959 the seat of the administrative court was relocated to Sigmaringen, so that the former center of the Hohenzollern region , which was no longer mentioned in the new state of Baden-Württemberg, could continue to be the seat of important institutions.

Malte Graßhof has been President of the court since February 1, 2016 . His predecessor Franz-Christian Mattes had been in office since October 1, 1998.
Courthouse
Parts of the court are housed in the former seat of the Prussian government on Karlstrasse . The building was erected in 1840 and was the seat of the Prussian government president from 1850 to 1945. In the immediate vicinity is the Prinzessinnenpalais, which is home to other parts of the court. The Prinzessinnenpalais was also completed in 1840 and rebuilt in the 1890s. It was originally the seat of the Princely Court Chamber, later various state authorities were housed there.
