Malte Graßhof

Malte Graßhof (born November 28, 1970 in Bonn ) is a German lawyer and judge . He has been President of the Stuttgart Administrative Court since April 2018 and President of the Constitutional Court for the State of Baden-Württemberg since July 2018 .

Life

After graduating from high school, Graßhof began studying law at the universities of Bonn and Freiburg , which he completed with the first state examination. He completed his legal clerkship in Heidelberg . After passing the second state examination, he joined the judicial service of the state of Baden-Württemberg in 1999 as a probationary judge at the Sigmaringen administrative court . In 2001 he was seconded to the Federal Constitutional Court, where he worked as a research assistant in Evelyn Haas ' department until 2005 . He was at the 2002 University of Potsdam with the issue of the enforcement of judicial review decisions of the Federal Constitutional Court for a doctor of law doctorate . His career also the Ministry of Justice of Baden-Wuerttemberg , the Administrative Court of Baden-Württemberg and the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg . In 2009, Graßhof was appointed judge at the Administrative Court, but was then seconded to the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Justice as head of the department for judicial staff in the specialist jurisdictions and service law. From April 2013 until his appointment as President of the Sigmaringen Administrative Court on February 1, 2016, he was Vice President of the Karlsruhe Administrative Court .

Graßhof was appointed President of the Stuttgart Administrative Court on April 1, 2018, and officially took office in July 2018. At the same time he took over the chairmanship of the 6th Chamber there, with responsibility for immigration law, building law, funeral and cemetery law as well as public service law. In July 2018 he took over the elective office of the President of the Constitutional Court of Baden-Württemberg from Eberhard Stilz and thus became institutionally the highest-ranking judge in the state.

From 2006 to 2013 he also lectured on constitutional, European and international law at the University of Tübingen . Graßhof is a member of the CDU .
