Peter Sperlich

Peter Sperlich (* 1965 ) is a German judge and President of the Higher Administrative Court of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and President of the Bremen State Court.

biography

Sperlich studied law and social sciences at the University of Hanover from 1988 to 1993 and completed a legal clerkship in Bremen from 1994 to 1996. In 1996 he was appointed judge at the Bremen Administrative Court. From 2001 to 2003 he was seconded to the Federal Constitutional Court, where he was a research assistant to Wolfgang Hoffmann-Riem . Then he worked again as a judge at the administrative court; in addition, he has been a lecturer at the University of Bremen since 2003 . In 2005 he switched to administration and was department head at the Senator for Justice and Constitution. In 2006 he became a judge at the Higher Administrative Court of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen , and in 2009 Senate Councilor at the Senator for Justice and the Constitution. On October 1, 2010 he became President of the Administrative Court in Bremen. On July 1, 2019, he moved to the office of President at the Higher Administrative Court of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen.
