Lars Brocker

Lars Brocker (born December 19, 1967 in Viersen ) is a German lawyer. He is President of the Constitutional Court of Rhineland-Palatinate and the Higher Administrative Court of Rhineland-Palatinate in Koblenz .

After graduating from high school in Mönchengladbach, Brocker studied law at the University of Cologne in 1987 . In August 1992 he passed the first state examination in law and after his preparatory service as a trainee lawyer at the Krefeld district court with training stations and a. passed the second state examination in December 1995 at the German Embassy in Helsinki and at the Ministry for Science, Further Education, Research and Culture in Düsseldorf. This was followed by a doctorate with Knut Ipsen at the Ruhr University Bochum .

His professional career began at the beginning of 1996 as a department head in the scientific service of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . In 1996 he was seconded to the State Chancellery of Rhineland-Palatinate for three months to the office of the Administrative Modernization Commission, and from March 2000 to February 2001 he worked as a judge at the Mainz District Court . From February 2002 to September 2003 he was deputy head of the scientific service of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament, then until the end of 2006 representative of the parliamentary director and legal advisor of the SPD state parliamentary group in Rhineland-Palatinate. In January 2007 he became director of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament.

On June 8, 2012, Brocker was appointed President of the Constitutional Court of Rhineland-Palatinate and the Higher Administrative Court in Koblenz.
