Ludgera Selting

Ludgera Selting (born March 3, 1964 in Velen ) is a German judge .

Selting comes from the Münsterland . After studying law and completing her legal clerkship, she came to Berlin in 1993, where she was hired as an assessor in the judicial service of the State of Berlin on February 8th. In 1996 she was appointed judge at the Charlottenburg District Court . In 2004 and 2005 she was a department head at the President of the Tiergarten District Court and at the same time a judge at this District Court. She then moved to the Supreme Court. From 2005 to 2009 she was a department head at the President of the Berlin Court of Appeal and from 2006 also a judge there.

Selting switched to the Berlin Senate Department for Justice as a consultant in 2009 , before becoming Vice President of the Central District Court in 2011 . In 2017 she was promoted to Vice-President of the Berlin Regional Court . She was proposed in 2019 by the SPD parliamentary group as President of the Constitutional Court of the State of Berlin . She was elected in the Berlin House of Representatives on October 31, 2019 . It is elected until 2026.
