Michael Hund (* 1946 in Karlsruhe ) is a German lawyer and was Vice President of the Federal Administrative Court from 2007 to 2011 .

Life

Hund is a graduate of the Catholic home school Lender . After completing his legal training at the University of Heidelberg with the second state examination in December 1973, he initially worked there scientifically. In May 1977 he was appointed a government assessor at the State Attorney's Office of the State of Baden-Württemberg and initially assigned to the State Attorney's Office at the Administrative Court of Baden-Württemberg . In September 1978 he was appointed state attorney. In December 1978 he was appointed judge at the Karlsruhe Administrative Court for one yearand in December 1979 appointed judge at the Administrative Court. From August 1982 to October 1985 he was seconded to the Federal Constitutional Court as a research assistant and then to the Administrative Court of Baden-Württemberg for one year . In 1989 he became a judge at the Administrative Court. In July 1992 he returned to the Karlsruhe Administrative Court as presiding judge. Michael Hund was appointed judge at the Federal Administrative Court in October 1993.

At first he was a member of the 9th Revision Senate, where he dealt with cases from the areas of asylum law , the Federal Expellees Act , the law on returnees and prisoners of war compensation. In October 2000 he switched to the first revision panel of the Federal Administrative Court, which was responsible for immigration law , asylum law and, until 2004, for nationality law. With effect from January 8, 2007, he then became the chairman of the 5th revision senate, which deals with welfare law including the asylum seeker benefit law , the severely disabled , maternity protection , youth welfare , youth protection and training promotion law , citizenship law, housing law and law of displaced persons and the compensation and compensation law. In May 2007 the previous vice-president of the court, Marion Eckertz-Höfer , was promoted to president of the court. Michael Hund succeeded her in the position of vice-president.

Michael Hund was also Vice-President of the Constitutional Court of the State of Berlin from 2007 .

In addition to his professional activity, Hund was for many years a member of the board and at times chairman of the Federation of German Administrative Judges and the German Administrative Court Assembly .

At the end of October 2011, Hund retired.

The book on immigration law published by him, Professor Winfried Kluth and Hans-Georg Maaßen was described as a work oriented towards practical processes and contexts in immigration law, which was intended to close the gap between commentary and textbook literature .
