Wesley-Giles Schenk (born August 24, 1955 in Fulda ) is a former German soccer player and current soccer coach .
Career
player
Born in Fulda , Hesse , and raised in Munich , Schenk began playing football at SC Freimann Munich and came to Bayern Munich via SC Bajuwaren Munich and FC Sportfreunde Munich , where he received a licensed player contract for the 1976/77 season . But he had to wait until the second half of the season for his Bundesliga debut before playing on January 15, 1977 (18th matchday) in the goalless draw against Fortuna Düsseldorf . This was followed by five more missions over 90 minutes - during the 1977/78 season he was denied missions. He then moved to the 1978/79 season for the second division MTV Ingolstadt , for whom he made his debut on July 30, 1978 (1st matchday), in a 2-1 win at home against 1. FC Saarbrücken , with both goals. In his second season for Ingolstadt, Schenk played all 38 games of the season and scored five goals. For the 1980/81 season he moved to the second division SSW Innsbruck , with whom he rose as a champion in the 1st division at the end of the season . After four seasons - Schenk stayed in Austria - he let his footballing career come to an end after two more seasons with third division club SC Kufstein - with the championship in the Regionalliga West.
Trainer
His first coaching job came Wesley Schenk in 1996 as assistant coach of Rainer Hörgl at SV Türk Gücü Munich on. From 1997 to 2002 he was head coach at 1. FC Traunstein , before he worked in the same position at SV Vogtareuth until 2005 . From 2005 to the 2006/2007 season, Schenk was assistant coach of the B1 youth team (U-17) and then coach of the B2 youth team (U-16) at TSV 1860 Munich. From the end of December 2009 to June 2011 he was again in charge of the district division 1. FC Traunstein. In the 2011/12 season, Franz Gruber took over the club because Schenk is taking a break and is devoting himself to further training for the Austrian A license. Since 2014 he has been in charge of the U-18 youth team at FC Wacker Innsbruck .
