Vic Mizzy

Victor Mizzy (born January 9, 1916 in Brooklyn , New York , † October 17, 2009 in Bel Air , California ) was an American film composer .

Life

Mizzy attended New York University and was successful as a composer for artists such as Doris Day ( My Dreams Are Getting Better All the Time ), the Andrews Sisters ( Three Little Sisters ) and the Mills Brothers ( The Jones Boy ) in the 1930s and 1940s active. He served in the United States Navy during World War II .

After some of his compositions had been used in feature films since 1939 , Mizzy worked for television from 1959 and wrote the theme melodies for television series such as Kentucky Jones , The Addams Family and Green Acres and episode music for Quincy and Delta House . He also wrote the soundtracks for feature films such as An Apartment for Three with Rock Hudson and Leslie Caron , The Naked Mile with Tony Curtis and Claudia Cardinale, and He only starred at night with Robert Taylor and Barbara Stanwyck .
