Victimizer is a Dutch death metal band from Nijmegen that was formed in 1996.

history

The band was formed in 1996. Together they developed some songs and in their early years played various concerts as the opening band for groups such as Disharmonic Orchestra , Last Days of Humanity , No Return , Inhume , Asphyx and Death Squad . In 2000 the band won the final of De Roos van Nijmegen, after which the band continued to perform, such as at the Huntenpop Festival. After that, the line-up of the band changed several times, which delayed the release of the debut album several times. Divided As One was self-published in 2003. After the release, there were other line-up changes until singer Niels Feekes joined the line-up in March 2005. After the EP The Spiral Down was released in 2007, appearances with Dead Squad and Apocrypha followed in October and November . During the tour, singer, guitarist and band founder Sacha Soute suffered a severe traumatic brain injury , so that he could no longer be in the band and was replaced by Andrew van der Schaft. In 2008, other appearances followed with Excrementory Grindfuckers , Houwitser , Entombed , Detonation and The Lucifer Principle . The last gig of the year was with Hail of Bullets . On December 1, 2009, the band signed a contract with Deity Down Records . The next album Tales of Loss and New Found Serenety was recorded in Split Second Studio in Amsterdam . It was mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö in the Swedish Unisound Studio .

style

The band plays classic death metal and has been compared to bands like Pestilence and Suffocation .
