Victor Oreskovich (born August 15, 1986 in Whitby , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Vancouver Canucks in the National Hockey League since June 2010 .

Career

Victor Oreskovich began his career as a hockey player in the St. Catharines Falcons junior teams in the Golden Horseshoe Junior Hockey League, the Milton Merchants from the Ontario Junior Hockey League and Green Bay Gamblers from the United States Hockey League . Then the NHL Entry Draft 2004 in the second round as a total of 55th player was selected by the Colorado Avalanche , for which he never played. Instead, he ran for a year for the team at the University of Notre Dame before he was on the ice from 2005 to 2007 for the Kitchener Rangers in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League .

He then took a break from ice hockey for two years due to an injury and decreased motivation, before taking part in the Florida Panthers training camp in autumn 2009 . There he was able to convince and received a two-way contract for the Panthers and their farm team from the American Hockey League , the Rochester Americans . After five games for the Americans, in which he had scored one goal and given three assists, he was ordered by the Florida Panthers in their NHL squad. There Oreskovich gave on October 31, 2009 in the game against the St. Louis Blues under Peter DeBoer , who had already trained him in Kitchener, his debut in the National Hockey League .
