Victoria Jackson (born August 2, 1959 in Miami , Florida ) is an American actress .

Life

After graduating from Florida Bible College, Jackson attended Furman University in Greenville , South Carolina and Auburn University in Alabama . After appearing in theater in Alabama, she moved to Hollywood , where she worked as a stand-up comedian . She suddenly became known to a larger audience through an appearance on Johnny Carson ’s Tonight Show . In 1986 she joined the ensemble of Saturday Night Live . In the 1980s, she was also seen in a few films, including The Couch Trip and Baby Boom. She also played the lead female role alongside Weird Al Yankovic in UHF - Broadcasters with Limited Hope . After leaving SNL, she was only seen sporadically in acting roles, including guest appearances in The X-Files - The FBI's Eerie Cases and Sabrina - Totally Verhext!

Jackson is a second marriage and has two children. She is a supporter of the tea party movement .
