Viktor Schufinsky

Viktor Schufinsky (born July 28, 1876 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary ; died October 8, 1947 in Vienna) was an Austrian painter and graphic artist .

Life

Schufinsky studied at the Vienna School of Applied Arts and from 1903 was an assistant at the graphic teaching and research institute . He also taught at the kk technical college for the clay industry in Znojmo , and from 1918 at the arts and crafts school in Vienna.

In the First World War Schufinsky fought on the Russian front, but in December of the same year was assigned to a propaganda group in the Austro-Hungarian war press headquarters . In 1916 he was made lieutenant of the Landsturm , in 1917 he worked for the 5th Army Command on the Isonzo Front . His work also includes poster designs, war picture sheets and orders for the Red Cross .
