description

The two-storey, today under monument protection standing Villa is "a construction of the Dresden School with echoes of the French Renaissance ."

The main view of the street has a symmetrical elevation, a flat hipped roof and a central projectile . In front of the risalit is a massive veranda , in the hipped roof of the same there is a dormer with segmented gable. In the arched fields above the windows of the upper floor of the risalit there is stucco ornamentation with masks. There is a festoon frieze under the eaves above .

The plaster is still largely original today. The windows are framed by sandstone walls , on the ground floor there are triangular gable roofs above. The building edges are emphasized by grooved corner pilaster strips.

The large garden with its old stock of trees is enclosed by an iron fence, the garden to the villa is considered an ancillary site in the preservation order .

history

The local manufacturer and co-owner of the Saxon asbestos factory Gustav & August Thoenes , Carl Gustav Thoenes (* April 12, 1851 - March 19, 1923; buried in the Radebeul-Ost cemetery ), had a house built for himself by the Ziller brothers in 1888/1889 .

In 1891 his son Fritz Gustav Theodor Thoenes (1891–1974) was born, who in 1934 took over the management of the University Children's Hospital in Magdeburg as a professor of childhood diseases. 1952 Fritz Thoenes received membership at the German Academy of Natural Scientists Leopoldina in Halle.

In 1906 a greenhouse was added to the rear of the building.
